The Opposite of Mass Production

Our unique construction process involves measuring and hand-fitting custom parts to each chassis, ensuring every component is tailored for a perfect fit. Each piece is serialized with the coach’s vehicle identification number for precise installation. We give every motorhome the attention and care it deserves.

Structural Strength for Long-Term Durability

The foundation of a well-built motorhome begins with structure. Pleasure-Way uses carefully fabricated structural components designed to support the coach through years of travel, changing road conditions, and everyday use. In our widebody models, welded tubular steel framing provides a strong foundation for the floors, roof, and side walls. This construction method helps create a solid, durable body structure designed for confidence on the road. This process, tailored to each chassis and design, takes over 50 hours per motorhome, significantly longer than mass-produced Class C models.

Fiberglass Body Construction & Exterior Fit

Our fiberglass components are built, prepared, and hand-fitted with care to create a clean, refined exterior. Fiberglass skins are bonded to the steel structure using Sikaflex® adhesive, enhancing structural integrity and allowing components like the one-piece molded Plateau XL roof to attach without multiple fasteners. Fewer unnecessary exterior penetrations mean fewer potential water entry points, an important detail in RV construction and long-term ownership.

Automotive-Style Paint & Exterior Finish

A luxury Class B motorhome should look as refined as it feels. Our paint department applies Glasurit® automotive paint to all motorhome surfaces. This premium paint, used by luxury brands like Rolls Royce and Bentley, far exceeds the common gelcoat finishes in the RV industry. Pleasure-Way’s paint process includes careful preparation, priming, painting, and clear-coating for a polished exterior finish. Exterior components such as running boards, vents, hatches, and trim pieces are painted to match the motorhome, creating a cohesive appearance that reflects the quality of the build.

Custom Carpentry and Interior Millwork

Inside every Pleasure-Way, our carpentry department does far more than build cabinets. This is where many of the interior walls, panels, furniture components, cabinet structures, galley sections, storage areas, and finished surfaces begin to take shape. Our on-site carpentry and millwork team carefully creates and prepares the pieces that form the interior of each motorhome. From wall panels and structural interior parts to drawers, doors, cabinet frames, countertops, and galley components, each piece is crafted with attention to fit, function, strength, and finish.

Created, Not Manufactured!

Most recreational vehicles are built on assembly lines, with the interiors and cabinetry stapled together in a menagerie of paneling and wooden sticks. The walls and roof are typically installed last. Many of these recreational vehicles feature a meager 12-month warranty. At Pleasure-Way, we are proud to say that we build our motorhomes to last, and that our manufacturing process reflects this.

RV Electrical Systems

Modern Class B motorhomes rely on dependable electrical systems. Pleasure-Way’s electrical installation process is carefully planned to support lighting, outlets, control panels, appliances, batteries, solar charging, inverters, and other onboard systems. Every wiring harness is loomed in-house, organized, and prepared with precise measurements for each coach. This helps ensure clean routing, proper fit, and a more consistent installation throughout the motorhome. Rather than leaving wiring loose or cluttered, our team carefully secures and organizes each electrical run to support long-term reliability, easier servicing, and a cleaner overall build.

A Slower, More Accountable Build Process

When a Pleasure-Way reaches the stall installation stage, the coach begins to take shape as a complete motorhome. This is where skilled installers carefully measure, fit, and install the major interior components that form the foundation of the living space.

Each installer begins by learning to craft one specific model. For the first year or two, they build only that model until they have mastered the installation process. After that, they will learn a new model, and the learning process begins again. Over time, they will gain the expertise to build any model with confidence.

Rather than relying on a fast-moving assembly line, each coach remains in its dedicated stall while the installer works through the build with care and precision. Measurements are taken directly from the van to ensure the walls, cabinets, galley, and other structural interior pieces are properly fitted to that specific coach. This is especially important in a Class B motorhome, where every inch matters and a precise fit helps create a quieter, stronger, and more refined finished product.

As the installation progresses, specialized team members are brought in at the right stages of the build. Plumbers, electricians, and other trained departments complete their portion of the installation as the coach comes together, ensuring each system is properly integrated into the overall structure. This allows the installer to maintain continuity throughout the build while still relying on specialized expertise where it matters most.

The stall installation process creates a higher level of accountability. The installer is closely connected to the coach through a larger portion of the build, understanding how the walls, cabinetry, galley, plumbing, electrical, and finishing details all work together. It is a slower and more hands-on approach, but it allows for better fit, cleaner integration, and the kind of craftsmanship that has long defined Pleasure-Way.

Plumbing Systems Carefully Routed for Class B Motorhome Travel

At Pleasure-Way, our plumbing team carefully lays out and installs the water lines and plumbing components that support the bathroom, galley, taps, toilet, shower, exterior shower, water heater, fresh water system, gray water system, and black water system. Because space is limited inside a Class B motorhome, every plumbing line must be thoughtfully routed and precisely installed. Our team works within the compact footprint of the coach to ensure each connection is placed properly, each line is secured, and each system is integrated cleanly with the surrounding cabinetry, walls, flooring, and fixtures. Once installed, the plumbing system is checked to help confirm proper operation and reliable performance.

Upholstery, Comfort, and Interior Finish

This department creates and finishes many of the soft surfaces found throughout the coach, from Ultraleather® sleeves for sofas and ottomans to fabric-wrapped wall pieces, covers, cushions, and soft-touch ceiling panels. Each piece is carefully cut, sewn, shaped, wrapped, and fitted to bring comfort, durability, and a polished finish to the interior.

Our seating and sleeping areas are built in layers, combining supportive foam, viscoelastic memory foam, and Dacron to create a comfortable place to relax, lounge, or sleep while travelling. These materials are assembled with care so the finished furniture feels supportive, tailored, and ready for daily use on the road.

The upholstery team also contributes to the overall fit and finish of the motorhome by preparing fabric-wrapped components that help soften the interior, reduce hard surfaces, and create a more residential feel inside the compact space of a Class B motorhome.

The Details That Complete the Coach

The finishing department is where many of the final interior details come together, helping transform each Pleasure-Way from a carefully built coach into a polished, ready-to-travel motorhome.

This team is responsible for installing many of the accessories, finishing pieces, and final components owners use and notice every day. That includes soft-close drawers, cabinet arms, trim pieces, minor covers and panels, cushions, screw caps, screens, fire extinguishers, and selected appliances such as the microwave. They also complete detailed silicone work where required, helping create clean seams, finished edges, and a more refined appearance throughout the coach.

While these may seem like small details, they play an important role in the overall quality of the finished motorhome. Drawers need to close smoothly. Cabinet hardware needs to function properly. Trim needs to fit cleanly. Panels and covers need to feel secure. Cushions need to sit correctly. Screens need to operate as intended. Even exposed screws are carefully finished with caps to create a cleaner, more complete interior.

This stage requires patience, accuracy, and a strong eye for detail. The finishing department helps ensure that every Pleasure-Way interior feels complete, comfortable, and thoughtfully assembled before it moves into the final stages of inspection and quality control.

Seal Tech Water Leak Detection

Before a Pleasure-Way leaves our facility, every coach goes through a dedicated water leak testing process to help verify the integrity of the exterior and identify potential leak points before delivery.

During this stage, the coach is pressurized from the inside, creating positive air pressure throughout the motorhome. Once pressurized, the exterior is carefully checked using a water and soap solution around key areas such as windows, doors, roof openings, vents, exterior seams, utility connections, access panels, and other potential entry points. If air escapes through a gap, the solution will bubble, allowing our team to locate and address the issue before the coach moves forward.

This testing process is an important part of our quality control system. Water intrusion can be one of the most frustrating issues in RV ownership, which is why we take the time to inspect each motorhome carefully before it leaves the factory. By checking seals, seams, openings, and exterior components in a controlled environment, our team can make corrections early and help give owners greater confidence on the road.

Quality Control

A Two-Part Inspection Inside and Out

Before a Pleasure-Way leaves our facility, every motorhome goes through a detailed quality control process designed to review the coach from every angle. This stage is handled by two dedicated quality control team members: one focused on the exterior and one focused on the interior.

The exterior quality control inspection begins with a careful review of the coach body, paint, exterior components, and overall fit and finish. The team checks for body damage, verifies that windows open and close properly, tests the awning operation, and confirms that its safety features trigger as intended. Roof seals are inspected, along with roof-mounted components such as solar panels, the air conditioner, and ventilation fan. The fan is also tested to confirm proper operation, including the rain sensor function where applicable.

The exterior inspection continues beneath the coach, where the team checks the chassis area for properly sealed openings, secure lines, and correct installation of key exterior systems. Components such as utility connections, underbody lines, exterior seals, and generator operation are reviewed to help confirm that the motorhome is ready for real-world travel.

Inside the coach, the interior quality control inspection focuses on fit, finish, function, and comfort. Walls, cabinets, panels, and trim are checked to ensure they are flush, secure, and properly aligned. Silicone work is reviewed for clean application, while flooring is inspected for issues such as bubbles beneath the vinyl. Laminate surfaces are checked for chips or discoloration, and Corian® surfaces are reviewed for scratches or imperfections.

The interior team also tests the systems owners rely on every day. Control panel functions are checked to confirm that lighting, climate control, generator controls, and other onboard features operate as intended. Appliances, taps, cushions, and power sofa functions are reviewed, along with the overall operation of the living area. The chassis is also updated as required, helping ensure the vehicle side of the motorhome is prepared before delivery.

This two-part inspection helps ensure that each Pleasure-Way meets our standards for craftsmanship, function, and presentation. Every detail is reviewed with care before the coach moves one step closer to its owner.

Interior & Exterior Detail

This stage is more than a final cleaning. As our interior and exterior detailers prepare each coach, they also act as another set of eyes on the finished motorhome. It is not uncommon for the detailing team to notice small flaws, marks, or potential damage that may need attention before the coach is approved for delivery.

As they clean painted surfaces, windows, cabinetry, flooring, upholstery, countertops, appliances, storage compartments, and exterior components, they are also checking for anything that does not meet our standards. If they notice a concern, they notify the quality control team so it can be reviewed and corrected as needed.

A mark on a cabinet face, a scratch on a painted surface, residue around a fixture, or a small imperfection in a finished panel can all affect the final presentation of the motorhome. By combining careful cleaning with another opportunity for inspection, the detailing process helps ensure every Pleasure-Way looks polished, complete, and ready for its new owner.

The Final Quality Check

The final quality control check is one of the last steps before a Pleasure-Way is approved to leave our facility. At this stage, the coach has already moved through production, department inspections, water leak testing, interior and exterior quality control, and detailing. The final review is designed to confirm that everything caught earlier has been properly addressed, while also completing one more meticulous inspection of the entire motorhome.

Our final quality control team carefully reviews both the interior and exterior of the coach, checking that previous concerns have been corrected and that the finished motorhome meets Pleasure-Way standards. This includes reviewing body condition, exterior components, seals, windows, roof-mounted equipment, storage areas, cabinetry, flooring, upholstery, appliances, fixtures, controls, and interior finishes.

Inside the coach, the team looks closely at fit, finish, and function. Cabinets, walls, trim, cushions, flooring, countertops, control panels, lighting, appliances, taps, and living-area features are checked again to ensure everything is clean, secure, aligned, and operating as intended. Outside the coach, the team reviews the body, paint, windows, doors, hatches, awning, roof components, seals, utility connections, and underbody areas for proper fit, operation, and finish.

This final inspection is also an important accountability step. If an issue was identified during an earlier stage, final quality control verifies that the repair or adjustment has been completed before the motorhome moves forward. Nothing is assumed. Each coach receives one more careful review to help ensure it is ready for delivery.

By the time a Pleasure-Way completes final quality control, it has passed through multiple layers of inspection, testing, cleaning, and review. It is one more reflection of our commitment to craftsmanship, long-term quality, and owner confidence. By the time your camper van has been completed, it has gone through over 400 hours of meticulous care and attention.
