Hi I’m Jean! My passion for traveling began in my daydreams as a young girl. Growing up on a farm in the middle of Missouri during depression times, I didn’t get out much. My goal was to be able to GO SEE DO. I’m happy to say my goal is now my motto and my nickname is ON THE GO JEAN.
Camping On Wheels
While living in Germany in 1959, my belated husband and I bought a Volkswagen Bug and road tripped our way through Europe – Germany, Switzerland, France, Monaco. We had no money so tent camping was all we could afford. It was during that trip we decided we preferred camping on wheels, thus our RV adventures started.
My Current Pleasure-Way
I met the previous owner of my Pleasure-Way on a Pleasure-Way Facebook group. I bought her… sight unseen… Definitely not something I would advise others to do, but in my case it worked out just fine. I am still in contact with the previous owner and I send her pictures of my Pleasure-Way and I’s adventures. We aren’t just Pleasure-Way Owners… we are Pleasure-Way People.
What year is Vintage? Someone recently told me they love my vintage RV. My Pleasure-Way is a 1998, but I think she could keep up with the newest of the new. With a Pleasure-Way, you simply get in and go and they stay on the go for a long time… which helps me live up to my nickname. My Pleasure-Way is almost completely original, even the cassette player still works. My newest addition, a larger back-up camera screen.
Solo Traveling
I encourage anyone who wants to GO SEE DO but who feels like it’s too daunting to do it alone… Just do it! I started solo traveling regularly in 2008 and I’m still out there at 86, if I can do it.. you can do it! My favorite solo travel hack is my “Passenger Pillow” – a pillow that is fitted with a shirt and hat. From a distance it looks like you have a passenger. It may or may not do its job, but it does make me feel a little more comfortable when I’m traveling alone.
Hosting Others While They GO SEE DO
While I’m away and on the go, my home in Kansas City has played host to people from all over the world. Worlds of Fun, the American Royal, weddings, work, and of course the Kansas City Chiefs. Providing a soft space to land for fellow travelers has been one of my most fulfilling adventures. I feel as if I’m part of every guest’s adventure and they are a part of mine…. The reason my Pleasure Way’s wheels keep turning.
