Utilizing Space In Your Pleasure-Way RV
Pleasure-Way motorhomes are the perfect way to spend time with family and friends. Whether you’re on a cross-country journey or just heading out for the day, the ability to bring along everything you need in one vehicle is a huge convenience. Class B RVs are designed to be compact, but with careful planning, you can optimize the available storage and fit all your essentials with ease. Here are some popular methods our owners use to maximize storage space in their Pleasure-Way!
Use bins to maximize cabinet storage
If you’re looking for a way to organize your belongings, bins and containers can be a great option. These can be found at most big box stores, and online such as Target, Walmart, or Amazon. They’re great because they are usually very affordable—especially if you shop around—and they work well with most cabinet storage.
Out-of-sight storage
Looking to optimize your kitchen space and get the most out of it? Think about what you really need in there—and then take a good look at what you don’t.
A great place for out-of-sight storage is under the sink; keep canned goods in plastic bins that fit into this area instead of stacking them on top of each other (which could lead to them falling over). You’ll also find extra room here when not using certain items such as bathroom cleaning supplies or paper towels that tend not to last long before being used up completely!
Closet and wall-mount storage
When you have limited closet space, it can be hard to think of ways to maximize your storage. But there are options! One of the easiest ways to add more storage is to add shelves inside your closet. If you have a lot of cooking tools, this is a great way to keep them organized and easy to access.
Wall mount hooks are another great option. They’re easy to install and they’re also a great way to add more storage for traveling essentials like coats, hats, or shoes.
Kitchen storage
Another area you can maximize your storage is the kitchen. There are a lot of different things you can do to maximize this space, but one of our favorite ways is by using a magnetic knife strip. This allows you to keep all of your knives on hand without worrying about them falling into the sink or being knocked off the counter when you’re cooking.
Another great idea is hanging spice holders close to your stovetop! This way, they’re easy to grab and use when needed, but they also won’t get lost or dirty if they’re left out on a countertop.
Bathroom storage
While you’re trying to maximize your storage space, don’t forget about the bathroom! This is a great place to store items like towels and toilet paper. You can also find small baskets or drawers in which to store things like makeup or hair products—they’ll be out of sight and won’t clutter up your counters.
Rear cargo storage
The rear cargo space under the sleep system is a great place to store items you want to keep hidden away from view. If you’re like many RVers, you probably have extra bedding that may not fit well into drawers or cabinets, but you still want it handy in case of a sudden change in plans. That’s where the rear cargo space comes in. It’s out of sight and out of mind. Maximize this area by purchasing organizers and bins that will fit below this space.
Exterior storage
Exterior storage is another option. Many RVers chose to add hitch mount storage by purchasing tow accessories.
These are the most popular options for exterior storage. Hitch-mounted carriers come in a variety of sizes and prices. The advantage of this type of storage is that it can be removed when not in use, making it easy to store away when not needed.
Mounted cargo boxes are also quite popular among RVers who want an easy way to carry their cargo without having to worry about removing a hitch-mounted box every time they want to use their vehicle. This type of box is usually made from metal or plastic and can be installed permanently on your vehicle’s roof rack or rear door (though some models require drilling holes into your vehicle).
The possibilities are endless
With those tips in mind, you may be able to better utilize the space in your home on wheels. Don’t be afraid to repurpose some things and make use of the spaces that you have.
